Be An Angel This Christmas At HarbourFront Centre

Mapletree Investments Pte Ltd, the property owner and manager of HarbourFront Centre will be celebrating Christmas with a difference this year. It has pledged to raise $10,000 for The Straits Times School Pocket Money Fund through the sale of “angel wings” and will top up any shortfall from the sale to make up the pledge amount.

Ms Shae Hung Yee, Corporate Communications Manager of Mapletree said, “This Christmas, we want to remember those people who have been affected by the economic downturn and stretch out a helping hand to them. We chose the ST School Pocket Money Fund because it fits in with our corporate philosophy of helping people lead a more rewarding life. The fund achieves this by ensuring that school children from low income families have enough money for food and transportation so that they could have a better quality of life while in school.”

She added, “We want to exhort people to be an angel this Christmas and help make someone else’s life better by buying a pair of angel wings.” Mapletree will be selling the “angel wings” at the Customer Service Counter at HarbourFront Centre. Each pair of wings will be sold for $12 with the profit from the proceeds going to the school pocket money fund. In addition, Mapletree has pledged that it will make up for any shortfall in the amount raised.

As part of the festivities, HarbourFront Centre will also be celebrating the festive occasion with Singapore’s first ever Walk up Christmas Tree of Wishes. The tree which towers three storeys in height at 11.5 metres will feature three astonishing decks from which shoppers who spend a minimum of $30 can embark on an enchanting journey up the tree to participate in the weekly Lucky Draw where 12 winners every week will receive lucky draw prizes worth more than $100. Along the way up the Walk-Up Christmas Tree of Wishes to drop off their wish card, shoppers will have the chance to take part in riddles and games as well as interact with the Elves and Fairies, inhabitants of the magical tree!
