Catch Singapore’s First Walk-Up Christmas Tree Of Wishes At HarbourFront Centre!

This Christmas, from 29 November until 24 December 2003, HarbourFront Centre will be celebrating the festive occasion with Singapore’s first ever Walk-up Christmas Tree of Wishes!

Towering three storeys in height at 11.5 metres and spanning 7 metres in width, the HarbourFront Walk-up Christmas Tree of Wishes will feature three astonishing decks from which shoppers can embark on an enchanting journey.

The Walk-up Christmas Tree of Wishes will feature an aquarium with cute aquatic friends in a festive decorated tank and lots of other interesting displays and games. As the enchanting route takes you higher up the tree, you will see chirping birds, and other interesting interactive displays as well as Elves and Fairies, inhabitants of the magic tree. Along the way, you can answer their riddle on a piece of paper, ball it up and toss it from the tree, where it falls like a snowball to the ground. If yours is picked up by an Elf, you could stand to win an instant goody.

Shoppers who spend a minimum of $30 in a single or combined receipt at any of the participating outlets in HarbourFront Centre, will be eligible to participate in its weekly lucky draws of 12 attractive prizes* each week, as well as the Grand Lucky Draw**. Every $30 qualifies for one wish card and shoppers can write down what they wish to win from among the 12 different weekly lucky draw prizes and drop them into the box at the top of the tree.

All wish cards are automatically entered for the Grand Lucky Draw, regardless of whether they have been drawn for the weekly prizes. That means shoppers will be able to double their chances of winning a prize!

On the ground, the base of the Walk-up Christmas Tree of Wishes doubles up as a stage with a hive of activity as fairies, elves and Santa celebrate the season with fun-filled games, skits, magic and puppet shows (Refer to Appendix 1). With so much fun and excitement, even adults can share in the festivities and be young again. It’s definitely going to be a different Christmas this year!

“This unique Walk-up Christmas Tree of Wishes is conceived to be more than just a purely decorative piece. It is designed to provide visitors with an opportunity to interact with the festivities associated with the Christmas season and experience the thrill of having their Christmas wish come true in our weekly ‘Grant a Wish’ draw”, said Ms Susan Sim, Director of Marketing of Mapletree Investments Pte Ltd which owns and manages HarbourFront Centre.

She added, “This year has been a particularly difficult time for Singapore, what with the economic downturn, occurrence of SARS and all. HarbourFront Centre hopes to add some much needed Christmas cheer by creating this Walk-up Christmas Tree of Wishes to grant shoppers’ wishes for Christmas. We hope that this Christmas will truly be a season of hope and joy for many.”

With so much to look forward to, shoppers would experience Christmas “in a new perspective” at HarbourFront Centre this festive season. What’s more, they might just have their Christmas wishes come true!
