Mapletree brings tenants together to celebrate Mid-Autumn Festival with thematic lantern installations

SINGAPORE – Mapletree Investments (“Mapletree” or “the Group”) presented An Evening with Mapletree to celebrate Mid-Autumn Festival 2023. The event provided a platform for Mapletree employees and the Group’s tenants within Alexandra Precinct to get together, appreciate the vibrant lantern installations and enjoy cultural performances.

The event was kicked off by Mr Edmund Cheng, Chairman, Mapletree; Mr Hiew Yoon Khong, Group Chief Executive Officer, Mapletree; Mr Lawrence Wong, Non-Executive Director and Member of Audit and Risk Committee, MPACT Management Ltd.; Mr Wan Kwong Weng, Group Chief Corporate Officer, Mapletree; and Mr Wu Wen-Ling, Deputy Representative, Taipei Representative Office in the Republic of Singapore. It saw more than 270 Mapletree employees and tenants coming together for this annual traditional festival.

All attendees were treated to an exciting display of thematic lantern installations set up around various art pieces at its flagship business park Mapletree Business City, namely The Conch, Wave, Elliptical Pavillion, Merryweather Pump Escape Fire Engine and Swirling Surrounds. They also enjoyed a traditional Japanese taiko performance and a fusion oriental dance performance by local performers. Other engaging activities include a photo contest, a lantern hunt and a lucky draw. Food stalls offering light snacks were also set up to satisfy hungry stomachs, accompanied by classic Mid-Autumn tunes performed by a live band.

Mr Edmund Cheng, Mapletree Chairman, said: “Mapletree is delighted to launch its first of a series, An Evening with Mapletree, to build community ties and foster stronger relationships with our tenants. We endeavour to preserve this initiative as a hallmark of Mapletree’s commitment to engaging tenants and enhancing Alexandra Precinct as a work-live-play environment. It was a great opportunity to kickstart this on Mid-Autumn Festival as it focuses on reunions and celebrates traditions.”

The lantern installations will be displayed at Mapletree Business City until 29 September 2023. Members of the public are invited to take photos with the installations and upload them to Instagram with the hashtag #AnEveningWithMapletree for a chance to win Mapletree retail vouchers. The contest ends on 30 September 2023, and winners will be announced on 2 October 2023. Terms and conditions apply.
