Mapletree Investments Establishes US$3 Billion Euro Medium Term Note Programme

Singapore – Mapletree Investments Pte Ltd (“Mapletree” or “the Group”), a leading Asia-focused real estate development, investment and capital management company, today announced that its wholly-owned subsidiaries Mapletree Treasury Services Limited (“MTSL”) and Mapletree Treasury Services (HKSAR) Private Limited (“MTHSHKPL”, and together with MTSL, “the issuers” or each “an Issuer”) have established a US$3 billion Multicurrency Euro Medium Term Note Programme (“EMTN Programme”) on 12 June 2012. This EMTN Programme is in addition to Mapletree’s existing S$2 billion Multicurrency Medium Term Note Programme (the “Existing Programme”).

The Existing Programme enables the Group to tap predominantly SGD bonds. The establishment of this EMTN Programme enables Mapletree to have access on an ongoing basis to the international debt capital markets outside the United States in reliance on Regulation S under the United States Securities Act of 1933 for non-SGD issues, such as USD, HKD, CNH and JPY, hence achieving further diversification of funding sources.

Group Chief Financial Officer, Mr Wong Mun Hoong said, “We are pleased to establish the EMTN Programme which will broaden Mapletree’s reach to increased funding sources to support the growth of our business in Asia”.

Under the EMTN Programme, the issuers may from time to time issue notes or perpetual securities denominated in any currency agreed between the relevant Issuer and the relevant Dealer. The payments of all amounts due in respect of the notes or perpetual securities will be unconditionally and irrevocably guaranteed by Mapletree.

The issuers have appointed Citigroup Global Markets Singapore Pte. Ltd., DBS Bank Ltd., and The Hongkong and Shanghai Banking Corporation Limited as the Lead Arrangers and Dealers of the EMTN Programme. CIMB Bank Berhad, Oversea-Chinese Banking Corporation Limited and United Overseas Bank Limited have been appointed as Co-Arrangers and Dealers of the EMTN Programme.

Application has been made to the Singapore Exchange Securities Trading Limited (“the SGX-ST”) for permission to deal in, and for a quotation of, any notes or perpetual securities to be issued pursuant to the programme and which are agreed at or prior to the time of issue thereof to be so listed on the SGX-ST. Such permission will be granted when such notes or perpetual securities have been admitted to the Official List of the SGX-ST. Admission to the Official List of the SGX-ST and quotation of any notes or perpetual securities to the SGX-ST are not to be taken as an indication of the merits of the relevant Issuer, Mapletree, the EMTN Programme, the notes or the perpetual securities.
