Mapletree Presents the Third Edition of Once Upon a Full Moon!

The TENG Ensemble is back at the VivoCity Amphitheatre!

SINGAPORE – Catch The TENG Ensemble (“TENG”) live at the VivoCity Amphitheatre this mid-autumn on 9 and 10 September 2022. Presented by Mapletree Investments (“Mapletree” or “the Group”), the concert entitled Once Upon a Full Moon, will feature TENG’s originals and stunning renditions of popular music. Tickets to the concert are available for purchase from 26 July via Eventbrite and can be purchased in a family and friends bundle of four, or in single seats.

For the first time in the concert series, the concert will be hosted by TENG’s very own Executive Director, Yang Ji Wei along with Creative Director, Samuel Wong. The concert will feature three guest performers, the first being Singaporean soprano Moira Loh. With over 10 years of stage experience, Moira has represented Singapore and performed on various stages across the globe. In addition, Mapletree-TENG Academy scholars Ryan Lim (20 years old) and Jadelynn Soh (15 years old), will also grace the stage with their solo performances.

The concert will run from 7.30pm to 8.30pm at the VivoCity Amphitheatre. During the concert, audiences can expect live performances of popular music from the Korean Wave, alongside the premiere of two new original works – one of them composed by Singaporean music composer Evan Low, creator of the viral National Day song “The Road Ahead”.

Mr Edmund Cheng, Mapletree Chairman said: “Mapletree is pleased to play our part in building a sustainable arts ecosystem by supporting local arts groups like TENG that continuously push creative boundaries. It is wonderful to see a growing, vibrant arts scene in Singapore. We hope that friends and family alike will enjoy this special mid-autumn performance.”

Dr Samuel Wong, Creative Director of The TENG Company, said: “TENG’s partnership with Mapletree has allowed us time and again to bring our brand of fusion music to the wider public, bringing educational and entertaining arts programmes in such a family oriented and festive concert setting.”

Since 2018, Once Upon a Full Moon has been part of an annual series of concerts that celebrated the Mid-Autumn Festival and Lunar New Year. Due to the pandemic, the concerts were on hold in years 2020 and 2021. Following the successful return of the series in February 2022, Mapletree and TENG are proud to be back with yet another instalment of the performance this year.

Individuals are required to be fully vaccinated except for children under 12 years old. All live performances are subject to the prevailing Safe Management Measures of the period.

About The TENG Company

The TENG Company is a leading not-for-profit Singaporean music charity that harnesses the power of music for the greater good. TENG reimagines the possibilities of music, innovates within tradition, enriches the lives of the vulnerable and empowers lifelong learning. The Chinese character 鼟 (pronounced ‘tēng’) is an ancient representation for the sound of the drum, symbolising our aspirations to bring cultures together and to foster social cohesion. Through innovation and creativity, we strive to transform the conventional notions of music from our Chinese heritage and expand the boundaries of this art form beyond its traditional roots. Our three core pillars of Artistic Innovation, Industry Empowerment and Social Impact aspire to use music as a force for good and to empower future generations of musicians in and beyond Singapore.
