SINGAPORE – Mapletree Investments (“Mapletree” or “the Group”) is pleased to announce that over 800 audience and fans attended the sold-out community concert by Singapore Chinese Orchestra (“SCO”). Titled SCO Goes to VivoCity, the concert was held on Saturday, 28 May 2022 at the flagship mall’s amphitheatre, located at the Sky Park on Level 3. The one-night live performance was led by SCO Resident Conductor Mr Quek Ling Kiong and performed by more than 30 musicians.
The attendees, which included Mapletree’s guests from local schools and healthcare institutions, as well as SCO’s guests, sat under the starlight to appreciate a diverse repertoire of nostalgic tunes brought to life during the concert. This included familiar favourites such as “Thunder Storm and Drought” 《旱天雷》, “The Past Can Only be Remembered” 《往事只能回味》 and “Nocturne to Victoria Harbour” 《港维夜曲》.
To mark the Group’s first collaboration with SCO for a concert at VivoCity, Mapletree presented a token to Mr Terence Ho, SCO’s Executive Director. Mr Wan Kwong Weng, Group Chief Corporate Officer of Mapletree, said: “We are honoured to collaborate with SCO to put on a special performance of classic hits and melodies of yesteryear for the public to enjoy at the VivoCity Amphitheatre. As a gesture of appreciation, we also invited healthcare workers from Singapore General Hospital and National University Hospital alongside students, teachers and staff from Bedok South Secondary School and other Institutions of Higher Learning. We look forward to presenting more events that will bring the arts closer to the community as part of Mapletree’s corporate social responsibility efforts.”
