Mapletree Youth Futsal Camp 2025 nets record attendance of 135 in seventh edition

SINGAPORE – Mapletree Investments (“Mapletree” or “the Group”) is pleased to announce that its seventh edition of the Mapletree Youth Futsal Camp concluded on 19 June 2025 with a record turnout of 135 participants aged seven to 16 – an increase from 99 participants in 2024.

Due to overwhelming response in the 2024 edition, this year’s camp was extended to four days from three, providing more children and youths the opportunity to stay active during the school holidays while honing their futsal skills at Mapletree Business City (“MBC”).

This year’s participants included children of Mapletree Group’s tenants and employees, as well as beneficiaries from Beyond Social Services, Boys’ Town, CATCH Plus at Jalan Kukoh and ComLink+ (Bukit Merah). At the end the camp, participants emerged with newfound friendships, bonded by their shared interest in futsal. Under the guidance of experienced coaches, the students also refined their futsal skills and learnt the importance of sportsmanship.

Mr Edmund Cheng, Chairman, Mapletree said, “It is heartening to witness the expansion of Mapletree Youth Futsal Camp over the last six years, creating a deeper and positive impact on our beneficiaries. This community outreach programme underscores Mapletree’s commitment to empowering individuals and nurturing their potential. With the community’s ongoing support and interest in the camp, this programme continues to serve as a safe and positive space for our youths in complementing their personal growth and development.”

Rhys Wu, 13 years old (child of a tenant), who attended the camp on 12 June 2025, said, “I have been looking forward to this year’s futsal camp as I have learnt a lot and improved after attending last year’s camp. For today’s camp, I trained with the older boys and it was eye-opening. I hope that the organiser (Mapletree) continues to organise this futsal camp.”

Johan Kryztof Ocampo, seven years old (child of a tenant), who joined the camp for the first time on 11 June 2025, said, “At first, I felt a little shy because everything was new. But I am super happy I came today! I had so much fun and made new friends. The coaches were really nice and helped me learn cool moves. I even got to try them during the games. It was awesome!”

The fundraiser equivalent of the camp – the Mapletree Futsal Challenge – will be held in August this year as part of the Mapletree Community Month 2025. Mapletree Group’s tenants and employees can participate in this charity event by donating a minimum amount of S$500 per team, and the Group will match the donations dollar-for-dollar. All proceeds will go towards supporting Mapletree’s youth beneficiaries as part of its corporate social responsibility efforts. More details will be shared in due course.

In 2024, the Mapletree Futsal Challenge raised more than S$21,000 – inclusive of Mapletree’s matching. Since the challenge’s inception in 2017, the Group has raised more than S$76,000 for its beneficiaries.
