Singapore – Mapletree is pleased to announce that it has signed up The SAFE Store Pte Ltd as its anchor tenant at HarbourFront Centre. Taking up a total space of more than 70,000 sq ft on the third floor of HarbourFront Centre, SAFE will take over the space currently occupied by The Furniture Mall.

Come early second quarter of 2005, SAFE will unveil its new retail outlet to be called, ‘BiG by SAFE’. This will be SAFE’s new flagship outlet. With the opening of BiG by SAFE at HarbourFront Centre, it will close all its other outlets in Singapore and consolidate its operations under one flagship store.

BiG by SAFE promises to live up to its name, which is to be the ‘sumo wrestler’ of retail. It will have the size plus the interplay of the latest retail display concept, visual merchandising. It will also boast leading edge and innovative technology in the store to enhance the shopping experience. All this sums up BiG by SAFE’s appeal to become the preferred destination for local and foreign shoppers – a place not only to shop but as an attraction in itself.

In opening at HarbourFront Centre, the BiG by SAFE outlet joins an increasing list of retail and F&B tenants that benefit from their proximity to the office buildings at the HarbourFront’s Office Park, residential developments in the vicinity, tourists attractions of Sentosa, Mount Faber and the Cable Car as well as the Singapore Cruise Centre.

The recently upgraded HarbourFront Centre was officially opened on 4 September 2004. Sporting an eye-catching rotunda as well as spacious, bright and clean layout, HarbourFront Centre is also easily accessible, with road and rail links including the Northeast MRT Line and the future Circle Line.
